Vinyasa Krama Workshop
The art of Sequencing & Transitioning
3-4 August, 2020
With Senior Yoga Teacher Irana JiAn
In this workshop, you will understand Vinyasa.
The word vinyasa is composed of two words: vi = order + nyasa = placement; and the word krama means “the uninterrupted sequence of events from beginning to end”; so the entire term means “the ordered placement of the sequence of events.” Usually shortened simply to “vinyasa,” it refers to a flowing sequence of asanas linked by breath and intention.
In vinyasa, we practice a sequence of asanas as one continuous movement from start to finish. Learn the guidelines of how to sequence a meaningful Vinyasa practice with purpose and intention to create transformation, strength and bring balance to your body-mind. Yoga sessions are breath inspired practices that vary from meditative and rejuvenating (lunar) to challenging and empowering(Solar). The emphasis of the class is on alignment, breath and meditation. In every class we flow creatively through variations of sun salutations and all the groups of asana are integrated into sequences of Vinyasa to create full body transformation; strength and fluidity, circulation and centring.
