A time when I thought I failed in life

A time when I thought I failed in life

[ failure ] in life.

There was a time when I really thought I had failed; it was the only time in my life that I had that feeling of failure and carried it around in my heart for a long, long time. It was not a small failure, but something that was the most important thing in my life, and I felt I failed to sustain and make it flourish. It took me many years to forgive myself for failing.

I could not forgive myself until I realized there is no such thing as failure. Failure is just a word, but the truth is, everything that happens to us, everything we go through, is just what had to happen for everything to fall into place right now: for us to learn and evolve and be who we are and where we are right now. And not only for us but all those who were affected by that particular event.

The moment we realize we are not really in control, we cannot control life as we would like to. We also realize there is no such thing as failure, only change, and evolution. Besides that, we create that feeling of failure when we have expectations.

When we do have expectations is because we are not living in the present and putting all of our energy into whatever we are doing right now. Instead, we are continuously projecting ourselves into the future. the greater our expectations, the more we suffer if we do not fulfill those expectations.

When we live with intention instead of expectations, we can infuse those intentions with all our energy and resources and do what we are doing with all our hearts but without attachment to the outcome or expectations. Whatever the outcome, it is what it is, and we will be in peace.

To live in this way, though, we need first to move towards balance. Balance is the key to success.
